Fabian Cancellara is a professional cyclist. He is renowned for time trials and one day races and holds the record for the highest number of days wearing the yellow jersey at the Tour de France (for a rider who has not won the Tour overall). He has won the opening stage of the Tour de France five times and has been time trial world champion four times. He has won seven stages of the Tour de France and Paris-Roubaix three times. He won Olympic gold in the men's individual time trial event at both the 2008 Beijing and 2016 Rio games. He retired in 2016.
