Jutta Bauer was born in Hamburg in 1955, and is one of the best-known German illustrators. After studying at the Technical College of Design in Hamburg, she has worked as a children's book illustrator as well as a cartoonist. Jutta Bauer won the prestigious 2010 Hans Christian Andersen Illustrator Award.
