Michael Hearst is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and writer. He is a founding member of the band One Ring Zero, whose albums include Planets and As Smart As We Are, and his solo works include Songs for Ice Cream Trucks and Songs for Unusual Creatures. He is the author of Chronicle's successful Unusual Creatures: A Mostly Accurate Account of Some of Earth's Strangest Animals and Extraordinary People: A Semi-Comprehensive Guide to Some of the World's Most Fascinating Individuals. He lives in Brooklyn, New York. Matt Johnstone is an illustrator who has worked for a wide range of clients around the world. He received a Gold Cannes Lion for his illustration work for Greenpeace's Car Free campaign. He is currently based in London.
